ELCA Youth Gathering
2024 New Orleans- July 16-20
Every three years, thousands of high school youth and their adult leaders from across the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America gather for a week of faith formation known as the ELCA Youth Gathering. Through days spent in interactive learning, worship, Bible study, service and fellowship, young people grow in faith and are challenged and inspired to live their faith in their daily lives!
How to register
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: OCTOBER 15
Start by emailing Michael with the link below, he will send you the Youth Participant Registration Worksheet! Then, if your young person decides to join us on the trip, you can turn in the Registration Worksheet (linked below), along with a $250 non-refundable deposit! It's as easy as that!
We will hold monthly meetings starting in October for those who have registered to help us prepare for the Gathering! These meetings are a great way to build community before heading to the Gathering next summer!
What do we do at the Gathering?
Interactive learning- space for participants to engage and be immersed in the life and breath of the church, the community of God.
Synod Day- gather with congregations in our area, SE Iowa for worship, conversation, communion, music and learning about God.
Accompaniment Learning- participants will work alongside our neighbors in New Orleans and share meaningful conversations.
Mass Gathering- all Gathering participants gather and experience church at Superdome. Singing, dancing, praying, learning, and pondering faith with speakers and musicians.

Includes: travel costs, hotel,

Why the Youth Gathering?
The Gathering’s mission of faith formation in young people is the hub from which all things come for the Gathering. Our goal is to create environments and opportunities for faith formation through worship, interactive learning, Bible study, service and fellowship. While some of the experiences can be replicated at home, some are unique and special to the Gathering because of the size and scope of this ministry.
