Music Ministries


First Lutheran has a vibrant and extensive music ministry. Our music ministry expresses praise to God through song and makes an invaluable addition to our worship services.
We have a variety of vocal and instrumental groups that span all ages of First Lutheran members. 

Much of the year the various groups contribute to our worship services on a rotating basis.  First Lutheran’s vocal and handbell choirs rehearse in the fall, winter, and spring. 

If you’d like to be a part of First Lutheran’s Music Ministry, you are always welcome to visit a rehearsal, or fill out the interest form, and one of the directors will contact you!

Vocal Choirs

Our music ministries start for our youngest members in Pre-K and Kindergarten Sunday morning learning. Visit the Children & Families section for more details. Starting with first grade, our children and adults can participate in a number of "Singing & Ringing" Choirs, below.

Celebration Praise Team

First Lutheran’s weekly 11 a.m.

Celebration Worship Service is uplifting and inspiring. It is led by our staff worship leader along with a team of volunteer musicians and singers from our congregation. Music heard throughout the service is a blending of electronic and acoustic instruments covering a wide range of styles from songs that connect us to our Lutheran heritage as well as popular praise music by today’s top Christian recording artists.

Ages: Middle School and above

Rehearsal: 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursdays

Inter-generational Brass Ensemble

Dennis Pedde has played trumpet at First Lutheran for over 20 years for special services (Easter, Christmas Eve, etc.)  He has also served various churches in Iowa and Georgia as Minister of Music, Instrumental Music Director, etc. for over 40 years.  

Dennis leads a for-fun brass ensemble which meets Sunday evenings 5-6 p.m. and participates in worship on occasion. For further information, you may contact him at  <trp.teacher@gmail.com>
