Widows’ Support Group

The FLC Widows’ Support Group is a community of women gathered to support one another. Topics vary monthly according to the needs of the group.  Led by spiritual director, Deborah Hansen, this monthly gathering (usually after the monthly luncheon) is for any widow who would like encouragement, conversation, and a safe place to share. Please contact Deborah (deborahh@firstlutherancr.org or 319-365-1494) for more information.

Weekly Grief Circle this spring

Finding Hope & Healing Your Heart

Grief is painful and isolating. A Grief Circle is a safe, confidential, and supportive community where you can share with others who are also grieving. First Lutheran’s Grief Circle will come together for 8 weeks on Wednesday afternoons April 3 to May 29 (no meeting on April 24) from 1:30 to 3:00 pm in room 307. Through reading, private journaling, and conversation, we explore nine “essential touchstones” that will guide us into finding hope and healing as we journey with our grief.

Anyone who is grieving the loss of a loved one is welcome to attend. Feel free to share this opportunity with family and friends. To find out more or to register, reach out to Deborah at (deborahh@firstlutherancr.org), or call her at 319-365-1494.
