Spiritual Formation

Deepening Our Faith and Connection to God

We are blessed with leadership that has the vision and insight to have an on-staff director of spiritual formation to plan and lead opportunities for the congregation and community.
Deborah Hansen helps us engage in a variety of spiritual practices and disciplines to help deepen our faith and connect us to God and to one another.

FALL Study Groups

You Are God's Beloved!

"This is my beloved Son, and I am wonderfully pleased with him." These words were proclaimed from heaven when Jesus was baptized. And these same words are proclaimed to each of us in baptism as well!

Each of us is the Beloved with whom God is wonderfully pleased, but this identity can be so hard to remember and live into in our everyday lives. This fall our study groups will read Life of the Beloved by Henri Nouwen.

We will talk about being, becoming, and living as the Beloved within the context of baptism. The cost of the book for this eight-week study is $12. Register below, or for questions, reach out to Deborah Hansen at 319-365-1494 x.107, or deborahh@firstlutherancr.org.
