Spiritual Formation

Deepening Our Faith and Connection to God

As Christians there is always more to discover about God, about our faith, and about ourselves.  Through small groups, book studies, and retreats, our Spiritual Formation ministries have guided many people to a deeper understanding of their faith, and deeper connections with others in Christian Community.

A time of Discernment

For over 25 years First Lutheran has had an on-staff Director of Spiritual Formation who coordinated the many programs for adults to foster deeper faith.  After the retirement of most recent director Deborah Hansen at the beginning of the summer, we are entering a time of discernment on how to position our faith formation ministries in a way that reflects the needs of our faith community and fits with the patterns of life in modern society.

During this time of transition we invite groups and individuals to utilize the materials for reflection on our worship themes, found here, and to consider the Spiritual Formation Programs and Retreats from our friends at the Prairiewoods Franciscan Spirituality Center in nearby Hiawatha.
