Grief is painful and can be isolating. First Lutheran's grief support is a safe, confidential and supportive community where you can share with others who are also grieving.
We currently have a regular grief support gathering for widows on the second Thursday of each month at 2 p.m., following our Sr. Adults Monthly Luncheon.
Periodic groups like an 8-week Grief Circle are held generally once per year. Through reading, private journaling, and conversation, we explore nine "essential touchstones" that will guide us into finding hope and healing as we journey through our grief.
Anyone who is grieving the loss of a loved one is welcome to reach out.
MORE GROUPS
We organize our outreach ministries into teams that focus on Hunger, Housing, Hope, and Global Outreach. Each takes on a facet of challenges faced by our society and cultivates tangible ways that we can show the love of God to people facing challenges in life.
Several Bible Study groups meet at various times and locations each week offering opportunitines to connect in community and grow in faith together.
Stephen Ministers are trained and equipped to offer one-to-one care for people navigating challenges in their lives. Even through challenges, we firmly believe we can discover more together and grow in faith by coming alongside one another.
Grief can be painful and isolating, but it's not a journey you have to walk alone.
The Comfort Makers are a fiber-arts group who create quilts, lap quilts, walker bags and other items for local and global missions.
The group will also often participate in church-wide studies together as well.
Contemplative Hands is a creative gathering that weaves together prayer, reflection, and handiwork arts like knitting or crocheting Prayer Shawls as a form of physical and spiritual care for themselves and others.
