Comfort Makers help care for others by tying quilts, making blankets, mending bedding, and providing other garments for those in need of warmth, either physically or emotionally. Quilts made by these volunteers are distributed far and wide. Some stay in the church and are given to babies being baptized, or youth affirming their faith. Others are distributed to the local Red Cross for emergencies and homeless shelters. Items like lap quilts and walker bags are distributed to local care centers. Twice a year we send big shipments to Lutheran World Relief which are distributed in areas of need around the world.
This group also often participates in our church-wide studies and worship series discussions, expanding their friendships and faith together as well.
All ages and skill levels are welcome in this group – you do not need to know how to sew! The volunteers meet on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. in the lower level of the church.
